TWEKEMBE DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATION
The Performance Acts Medium Project also reaches out to the Education Sector by provision of Workshops in Music, Dance and Drama activities to schools for School Festivals, annual Inter-House Competitions and Cultural Heritage, National and International Music in Schools Galas and Competitions as well as Preservation Heritage Recognitions and Celebratory Events . The Youth Twekembe Performers outreach schools as tutors and work with school pupils through training sessions facilitation in Music, Singing, Drumming, Dancing, Acrobats, Acting, Poetry and Spoken World Activities. The Schools and Pupils are also in return able to respect and recognise their Tribal and Cultural Roots through active, fun, entertaining, educating, competitive and participatory mechanisms. The access to such programs in Schools also enables students to gain and exercise their physical fitness responsibilities something that is great and invaluable for their body and health.
Traditional and Contemporary Arts participation in Uganda is believed to have declined hence the decrease in cultrural
behaviours within our modern society today.
Twekembe performers aim to improve on folk music, dance and drama participation on and promo on because the young
generation could forget and lose their heritage.
Twekembe performers embrace the crea ve talents of the young people in schools to improve their social standards within
the society in the world tomorrow.
"EVERY PUPIL MATTERS CULTURAL HERITAGE, PARTICIPATION AND PRESEVATIONS."
